What is Mindful Medicine?

A broad pallet of classes, counseling, hypnotherapy, and other services, for adults in the midst of self-exploration, spiritual inquiry, and life change

What is the mission of Mindful Medicine?

To provide education, methods and support for people shifting away from a traditional or modern worldview and towards a 21st century, culturally creative worldview.

What is a ‘culturally creative’ worldview?

It means that through individual inquiry, practice, and self-change, you begin viewing the world primarily through the lenses of the humanities and metaphysics. This requires you to de-emphasize the traditional economic, socio-political, and religious interpretations of the world. While you may still be an engineer, a sales rep, a stay-at-home mom, or a teacher, you begin acting out of your essential character, your inner human spirit, and not according to any doctrine, policy manual, or societal expectation. Of course, this may cause you to eventually let go your traditional role.

A lot of people say they are already doing this but they really aren’t. In our view this risky (and therefore courageous) transition in worldview, in which you now move through the world on your own terms and read the world on multiple levels simultaneously, requires a significant understanding of core ideas in the fields of Perennial Philosophy, Archetypal Psychology, and Comparative World Mythology. In these branches of the Humanities lie many powerful, hidden clues to the "the good life" to which the classical great world teachers refer. One of the things Mindful Medicine does is provide a thorough introduction into the insights of this rare handful of geniuses.

According to recent cultural research, there are tens of millions of people in America alone who are in the process of making the transition away from a traditional or modern worldview, yet they feel as though they don’t identify with any particular new group and are not sure of where to plant their feet. Through our classes, cafes, and counseling, Mindful Medicine’s prime function is to help people navigate this limbo state to whatever their new solid ground or new group may be.
