| Mindful Groups
Mindful Groups is a training program in mindfulness
for corporations, governments, hospitals, or any organization
in which people interact. It is based on the premise that
the quality of relationships within the group is intimately
related to the degree of mindfulness within each member of
that group.
What is Mindfulness?
It is simply moment-to-moment awareness that comes from paying
attention intentionally. It is a way of observing what is
going on within you without judgment, without getting caught
up in the drama of it.
Mindfulness is a form of meditation, but it is not about
getting a certain feeling or experience. Nor is it about forcing
the mind to be still. It is simply about acknowledging the
way you happen to feel right now.
As you learn the art of self-observation, you will find that
you also become more of a calm observer of those around you.
You stop judging and reacting to them. As everyone in the
group becomes more adept at this, well
need we say more?
The group benefits of mindfulness are enormous.
Mindfulness Health Benefits
Well-documented in many research studies over the last few
decades, mindfulness techniques, when learned properly and
practiced regularly, lead to significantly improved physical
benefits. Just to mention a few:
- stress relief
- slower heart rate
- lower blood pressure
- relief from chronic pain
- healthier immune system
- tempering of the fight-or-flight response
- increased communication between left & right brain
